We have a tiny USB thumb drive that plays mp3s through the USB socket. No problem with the sound, but although it's perfectly formatted on the drive, some of the music is listed by performer, others by the title of the album. It's quite irritating when you're looking for "Frightened Rabbit", say, but unlike other artists they're listed as "Pedestrian Verse", the title of the album.

I know my way around iTunes and labelling tracks properly. I use Macs exclusively but of course the drive is formatted as MS-DOS for the car. Most artists are fine.

Any bright ideas?

When I put music onto a USB then I find it works best if you use the following file structure:

Music/Artist/Album/ and then all the tracks on that album.

By using that file structure the system should list more consistently, the exception is compilations which can sometimes muck up.

I find it easier if I use a smaller 8 or 16 gb stick and add the album art which is quite big to see on the screen and to scroll through by swiping a finger across
