Has anybody else noticed this phenomenon? We all know the system bongs and the ice warning light comes on when the temperature drops below +5°C but has anybody else noticed that the ice warning light goes out when the temperature drops below -4°C only to reappear with an associated bong when the temperature rises to -4°C again?

This happened several times on the way to work this morning with the temperature varying between -3°C and -5°C.

It was -10º this morning in the Fatherland & yes no binging or ice indication.
I suppose you'd have to be pretty stupid to not realise a danger of black ice.

F f f f f flipping cold.... wish I had a Webasto heater
