Do we have any members that have their car supplied via Kia under this scheme?

How easy was the process?
what car did you go for?
Did you have any adaptions, hoists etc?

Have a car on order through Motability ( Picanto 3 auto - one of the last!) without adaptions but with a lease on ultralight wheelchair £100 for three years through Motability. Downsizing from a much larger car with hoist at the end of its three year contract as we now live town centre with very small parking space. Motability process very easy once you have been through PIP process. Hopefully all goes well at pickup early next month, will report again then. Our experience of Motability over many years has been extremely positive with different car makes

Find our old wheelchair a pain at times as really need to fold seats down to make it easier to get in and out. Or I'm scared it will smash rear window if it's just stood in boot area.

Just waiting on PIP decision now. Not too bad as only started end November.

Current wheelchair stands up OK - tried in showroom. Will probably secure by tying to rear headrest if necessary. New wheelchair being supplied by Motability should be much lighter and less effort to get in car, only need 16" wide model. If on rare occasion we need to take mobility scooter we have small one that breaks down into manageable bits - should be fine with back seat(s) down. Can't wait to be able to park more easily with the Pic.

We have to carry a wheelchair for the MIL, its a lightweight alloy one. We tried it in a Rio standing up and it was fine, tried it in a Ceed but not so good and it would not fit in a Stonic despite being a taller car. Did not buy the Rio (or any Kia this time) simply because the 3 spec only came with plastic seats and who on earth wants those.

But its surprising how many cars it did not stand up in, Kia are not unique, we bought a Fabia after much searching, excellnt for the chair and a huge discount, over £5000.

We secure ours to the headrests with a bungy cord, works a treat but even with the handles folded its parcel shelf out.

Mrs Mobility scooter can be taken to bits to make it easier to transport. But 3 people & 2 dogs means a struggle in Stonic. Add in some bits are not easy to handle & heavy to lift...
So looking for a larger Kia & a hoist fitted. PIP pending.

Bungie idea is great for wheelchair. Will try that one.

Daughter loves her Picanto. 2nd one she has had. GT-S is a cracker.
