Dear Kia customer service,

As copied from elsewhere on this forum.

Is there anywhere I can get a maintainance manual for a 2006 Kia Cerato 1.6Crdi?

Why is there not a European version of the Kia Technical info that is availableto USA customers?

The last time I was in a Kia Dealership to buy an oil filter I asked if I could buy a maintainance manual but was told that Kia do not provide maintainance manuals for the public ...... why? The last time I asked that of a Nissan Dealership I was given a link to download a maintainance manual for free!

Also I have been waiting 8 days for a MAF sensor for the above Cerato from a Kia Dealership in Forfar but have been told "they are on back order" what ever that means? can you please explain the problem?

Regards

Bill

Hi numptie9<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I'm currently looking into this for you. As soon as I've got some details I will get back to you, thanks for your patience.

The term ""back order"" means that an item is currently out of stock in the UK. Customer services can look into a part delay if you'd like us to, I'd ask you to call us as we'd need some more information.

As I've said I'll get back to you as soon as I can about the maintenance information.

Thanks again for your post.

Thanks for getting back to me.

The MAF sensor is part # 28164-2A401

Fisken KIA in Forfar say the delivery on the part is now the 27th February!

I tried calling a KIA deelership in East Kilbride to see if they had it. They also say 27th Feb but they say that is not the correct part # for a 2006 Cerato 1.6Crdi Reg LA56CVH they came up with a different part number. I have seen the part number stamped on the Bosch MAF andit is the one above.

I have never had to wait so long for parts for Nissans and they rarely need any! This is the longest I have had to wait for a part for a car since I owned a Ford (never again).

Hi numptie9, <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Thanks for letting us know the part number.

All of our parts come from a central supply
location so unless a dealer has a part on site, they'll be subject to the same
lead time. This is why the dealer in East Kilbride also quoted 27th
February for delivery.

We aim to stock 95% of parts per car in the UK to
get our customers back on the road as soon as possible. We're really sorry that you're still waiting
for yours, if we can get the part to you sooner, we'll be in touch.

We'll also get back to you about your other
questions ASAP.

Just a quick update on my sick Cerato. Fisken of Forfar managed to source a MAF and the local garage fitted it yesterdayso I am now back on the road today.

I would still like a maintainence manual though to do my own maintainence as the local garages in Montrose are very unimpressive.

Hi numptie9

Thank you for your patience.

Workshop manuals can be ordered through any Kia dealer, there are two volumes available. Volume 1 covers the engine and volume two covers the chassis. Please see below for part numbers and prices.

A2FSEG41A1 ""“ £31.67 inc VAT
A2FSEG41A2 ""“ £31.68 inc VAT

Its worth me mentioning at this stage that these publications are not stock items so there may be a delay in providing them for you, but of course we'll make every effort to get them to you as soon as we can.

If there's anything else you need please feel free to get in touch.

There is NO VAT on books in the UK. The official Kia manuals are really good much better than a Haynes manual if they did one. I have one for a Kia Mentor 1994 and its an all in one manual and cost me £40 back in 2000. I am selling it now as the car no longer exists.

Whilst I am very happy that you have helped source details of the maintainence manual, you did not answer my question as to why there is no technical information resource available for European Kia models.
