Hello,
Can anyone advise as to whether listening to the radio when parked drain the 12v battery?
Does the car have to be 'switched on' for it to work without draining the 12v battery?
Mine when just operating in the car will auto switch off after a few minutes.

I always get a discharge warning when running the audio under Accessory mode.

Energise the car and then select Convenience Mode from the driver menus (UTIL will appear where drive mode is normally displayed).

We use it all the time (2020 First Edition) and the last couple of nice days have sat for an hour or more looking at the local scenery in the heat, AC set to 17C listening to the radio with no issues than losing 3 miles of range each time.

Yes it will drain 12V battery, if car is not in ready to drive mode.

Although there is Utility mode that can be used.

Switching the car fully on is the simplest answer. All power then comes from the main battery, even the 12V supply is derived from it and the 12V battery gets charged (rather than being discharged quite fast!)

If you feel bothered by the safety aspect of the car being fully on (somebody accidentally rotating the gear knob to D or R) - Then you can put it into "utility" mode where the main battery is still online for supply of power but the car can't be accidentally driven. To get into UTIL you first have to be in the fully on, ready-to-drive mode, then you need to access the setting in the driver's LCD, use the steering wheel mode button to get to User settings

Driver's LCD / User settings / Convenience / Utility Mode
If you can't see this option then you have not got the car into full ready to drive mode.
Sadly there is no way to get to UTIL without going via the full RUN state - It would be handy if you could enable UTIL from the ACC mode, but you can't
