05.2015 reg TA 5dr 1.0 CVVT

I had a look on the KYB website for the springs but there's only shocks available for the car.

Surely being a 2015 model, KYB should be making them for the car?

have you Checked ebay.. 馃槈 you didnt say front or rear by the way..

Back or front, both should be available. I only check ebay when I've ascertained part numbers for which I refer to the manufacturer eCatalogues such as KYB, Sachs, Monroe .... etc

Being Korean, I presumed KYB would be OE but they only supply the shocks.

Had a drive of the car yesterday and there's a groan on the n/s front when the wheel is turned so perhaps a collapsed strut bearing.

Thanks for the diagram links and yes, the spring is broken. The shock is also kaput so I'm going to replace the spring and shock on both sides and then the pads since their down too.

Can the strut pinch bolts be cleaned and reused? and what's their torque please?

The strut top mount nut is damn tight I have to say.

The front suspension on the car has the anti roll link rod so it seems its the earlier version even though its a 05.2015 reg.

A few torque values that might come in handy..shock nut at the top of the shock has to be renewed..

The two large aprox m16 bolts can be reused, yes. Haven't seen a torque, but Google a table for that thread, probably M16x1.0 and 10.4 grade steel, tho check, i could be wrong.

Vice grips on the shiny part are probably required, preceded by compression of the spring of course.

I guess you will replace the anti roll link rod too, sometimes require cutting off.

Cracking good info folks, many thanks.

The shock nut at the top of the shock I presume comes supplied with the new shock.

Yes, the link rod, stub axle end, has an awkward nut that hasn't spun off the peg.

11.Loosen the front strut bolts and nuts and then remove the knuckle assembly (A).
Tightening torque:
98.0 - 117.6 N路m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf路m, 72.3 - 86.7 lb路ft)

Next question - what's the tracking setting for the front wheels when all is reassembled may I ask?
