I am thinking of buying a 59 plate Kia Carens from a large car supermarket. The car has done 16500 miles and was registered on 30/09/09. The car was not serviced according to the service schedule (ie 10,000 or 12 months) and has only just been serviced last week (using approved Kia parts). I spoke to Kia UK who advised that because it had not been serviced to schedule, then any malfunctions may not be fixed under warranty, eg if a turbo blows. The car supermarket say that by law Kia have to honour the remainder of the warranty by law. I've backed out of the deal as I'm not getting a warm feeling about it, but who is right? Any input appreciated...

If Kia says no, I think you did the right thing. There's plenty more cars out there with proper histories. Best not to take the risk.
