Driving on M1 last week, out of the blue speedometer swuni to zero, lights dimmed and car lost power and came to halt. Engine started again when driven onto recovery truck. I thought it might be issue with alternator but Local garage cannot find any fault and no fault code. Car driving o.k now. Really worried as I have been making journeys to my elderly parents as one of their key carers. Fearful to drive any distance particularly on the motorway as scary and hazardous. Anybody Experienced anything similar? The car has done just under 50k miles and has always been reliable up until now. It is a petrol model
I am thinking of taking it to a specialist Kia Garage, hoping that they might have some specialist diagnostic tools.

Yes might be worth checking with Kia. It's a shame you're just out of warranty. Get a price off them for the diagnostics. When I had my Kia Venga there were serious issues with them but that was the diesel and there were thousands involved. Have you double checked your battery and earth connections?

Ground strap connection to body has been known to cause trouble. Easy enough to remove and clean up. Do the same for the battery connections.
