Hi, I have just had the cat chang on my kia as the car lost all power and the cat had collapse. This as now been replace but the car is no better. It loosing oil and there is a tapping coming from the engine when accelerating. I have it in the garage but this will need the engine opening up. Please can anyone give me any advise on what to do and as anyone had the se problem??

What mileage has the car down & what sort of trips does it normally do?

Where is it losing oil from. Dripping on floor outside or being burnt in engine?

What did the garage say was the cause of the Cat failure?

The car done 90 000 miles and travels about 20 to 35 miles a day. I cannot see any oil coming out the engine but I have had to top it up every couple of week. We have the Chang replace and this is when it start to loose oil. The garage didn't say what has caused the cat to break they just replaced it.

Could possibly be worn valves.

Really is one that needs engine to be looked at.

But if it is at the same garage that changed Cat I would be asking the reason for the change of cat.
