Hi,

New owner here with 2018 model.

Been having some strange issues with my AC. Car went to service and it was taken care of.

But now I feel I can´t use my climate system without the car kicking in the gasoline engine, its winter now so not entirely sure, but can´t I use the climate on EV without starting the gasoline engine? Not sure if its normal or not, just feel its strange that the gasoline engine has to be running to use my climate system.

Thanks

Well without the engine running you get no heat or cooling.

Assume this is a PHEV?

Yes, its PHEV.

If I understand you correctly, EV can not drive the climate system, or at least not if heath is needed?

Korean plug-ins have a electric AC compressor but no extra valves or condenser to use it for heating the cabin. So you can cool with battery power but heat only with dinojuice.
