Is it OK to charge my Niro with the 10amp from a plug in socket long term, as I have an out of date charger and am looking at hundreds of pounds to update it for what seems a slight reduction in charging time.
You can also change the standard home charger to 12A to decrease charge timeI've been using the 10 amp charger from a standard 13 amp socket for over a year now, with no issues. On Octopus Go my cheap rate window is four hours and even with the battery effectively empty (0 mile range) it gets to 100% within that time period. No point having it charge faster overnight...
Not mine you can't, 6A, 8A or 10A. Some of the older ones could do 12A I think, but later models were changed. You can also change the standard home charger to 12A to decrease charge time
