I have the sister car to the Kia Optima the Hyundai i40..Mechanically identical..Mine is due the 4 year service which I have been quoted an insane price for by the Hyundai dealer I usually use. The next lowest price was from a Hyundai service centre. As it happens I live close to Hammertons Kia service centre in Batley and asked re servicing it there, as they have an excellent local reputation. The price was sub £300 and I was given a detailed explanation of what was to be done. Now both marques would have you believe you can`t cross service...Well you can because both have access to each others parts catalogue and service items are the same across both brands. They both itemise the invoices so no danger to the warranties. Both can also even update each others sat navs now.
I suppose the main point is if you have a service only centre, of either brand nearby, rather than the flashy glass and steel showrooms, try them for a price...you might be pleasantly suprised.
