Saw other post, thought I'd start a fresh one for everyone to help me out.
Have been told to fix the problem of wipers not returning to correct home position will have to get a new motor.any help appreciated.Cheers.
Ok, it was during snow my wife went to go out in the car and forgot to defrost windscreen and just turned wipers on,wipers were stuck to screen, motor turned and twisted wiper arms out of shape. Since then they dont go to home position when you flick them off, they never cut out or blew a fuse when it happened which would have been helpful as they would have probably stayed in right position! I've had a garage look at it and his conclussion is that the motor is at fault, he priced a new one from Kia at nearly £200[for a wiper motor!!] I said I can suffer it for that price, just thought someone on this forum might be able to help. Cheers Andy.
Where they stop: if your using them in normal mode they stop below home position but when using intermitant mode they stop halfway up screen.Thats what I thought to do when it happened was to take wipers off switch them on then off to let them go to home position but it didnt work.
Cheers Andy
Thanks for the explanation. I can only guess the "logic" has been upset if you know the thread hasn't been stripped. It's strange they return to different positions depending on the usage.
Maybe there is something internal to the motor that would set this? A good auto electrical specialist may offer some advice on that.
Presume you've taken the wiper arms off & reset them to the right position when using permanent mode? If so can only suggest you ignore the intermittent step, as annoying as that would be!
Mark.
