In my previous Ioniq 5, I installed a Carlinkit box for Spotify/Netfix etc, but for some reason it just didnt work when plugged into the EV3.
When plugged in, a message popped up on the screen 'Reading USB' ...and then nothing!
Dont know for sure, but I thought it might possibly be because it was an older Android 11 system - Let me know if anyone else had issues with such a system.
Anyway, I recently bought an Android 13 device from Aliexpress for ÂŁ84 which worked straight out of the box when plugged into the EV3's data socket, after self adjusting itself for screen size etc.
I initially had it 'Hotspotted' to my phone, but after seeing the recent Lebara deal of 50Gb for ÂŁ1.20 per month, I went down that route and it now runs off its own sim.
Its mounted out of sight under the central arm rest - which should also be a cooler place than if mounted somewhere in sunlight.
All apps work fine, although the 'CarScanner' app can be a bit glitchy when trying to connect to the OBD bluetooth unit.
For anyone who's not used one of these before, remember to first put a new sim card into a normal phone first to activate it -it should then work straight away in the android box.
