I have an 07 Sorento, this is my second Sorento and third Kia.
10 days ago No 4 injector 'popped up' - it shreared the head off the holding down bolt, ripping the spill pipe in the process. The RAC couldn't fix it at the roadside and so we were transported to the dealer.

The RAC driver said this was the third Sorento he had recovered in twelve months with the same problem.

The dealer said they had one only the week before.

A new injector and holding down bolt were fitted and the car returned.

127 miles later the same thing has happened again - except this time the bolt has stripped the thread in the head.

Does anyone know how common this problem is?

I recently received a letter from Kia recalling my sorento for an upgrade to the injection bolts but was told by the dealer that it did not affect my car. If you haven't been recalled then check with your dealer... maybe you should have been?
