I know how to lock the car from the inside so when a bad parent such as myself leaves the kids inside to run into the shop, they don't set the alarm off which is what they did the first time. What about the dog though, he obviously cannot lock it from the inside?

Any suggestions?

It is the Sportage sector - but not all models are the same.
You have an alarm release button on th right hand lower side of the dash. When activated it gives you fifteen seconds to lock the car with no inside motion sensor. Take longer than fifteen seconds and it defaults to the sensor being operational.

The instructions are clear in the hand book.

You obviously have an extra "smart arse" button on the dash - probably standard issue for models sold in Scotland.

Thanks for all your comments, and thank you Belgrave for pointing out the instructions were in the hand book. I had looked there but that part didn't jump out at me and as "Blow In" said, it is always useful when someone else reads it for you. Instructions are all well and good but it's how they are written and laid out.

All sorted now thanks to the forum.
