Here's you chance to voice your feelings on how other drivers have treated you when at the wheel of your Kia.

I would be interested to know if people get more road rage thrown at them if say they are driving a Picanto compared to a Proceed.

Me and the misses both have cars (Rio diesel and Astra 2.0l Diesel) and even my wife notices that when driving the Rio other drivers drive closer to my bumper.

Other car drivers are more reluctant to move over on the motorway when in the Rio.
Yet in the astra this does not happen.

Maybe it is a badge snobbery thing but come on the Rio diesel is certainly not slow.

I must stress that none of the above examples employ aggressive driving on my part or even speeding, these are just things I have noticed.

So what are your experiences ?

I get really annoyed on the motorway when I want to go along at a steady speed between 70 to 75 mph and you're about to overtake someone, who suddenly realises it's a Kia and then speeds up, forcingyou to pull over. Then half a mile down the road they've slowed down and you have to go through the same thing again. The best solution I've found is to draw along side, then floor it, pull over when I'm well past and resume my cruise. They either give up and go back to their normal speed or go racing off to prove their stupid point, but at least they are out of your way!

I think VW drivers are the worst for this, probably because they can't afford to buy a proper German car

find in my picanto that other motorists  think that small car force him to give way or they will pull out on you thinking they can beet you as a trucker of 20 years expierience i always tell these clowns remember its not the car its the driver. as a good driver in a picanto is equal to any idiot in a lexus

(Sorry, long answer.) I first noticed this difference in attitiudes back in the 70s. I owned a 1959 Ford Prefect (Cortina engine, Corsair diff etc) and could happily cruise at 70 mph. Other road users treated me like I wasn't there. In the 80s I moved from a Fiat 127 to a Supermirafiori. What a difference! No tail gating, let out of junctiions etc etc. The same happens on my Honda Silverwing - a bulky bike- but the Honda Cub stepthru made me invisible. I was driven at, ignored, pushed into the gutter or even over the centre line etc. I sold it after 3 months. We get "normal" respect in our Karens, but once again, the difference when we use my wife's Rover 25 is incredible. In summary, I don't think it's all the badge's fault but size. Perhaps that's why my favourite drive is a Nepolan 80 seater double decker coach. 400bhp, 12 speed, plus a Transit size trailer on the back!
Safe driving,

Tim

Not really noticed any problems, however I do have a Magentis, which can certainly shift. Most of the clowns have probably never seen one so think it's an inferior make :)

Usually I find other road users look down at KIA drivers they always do drive. Right up behind you but I always dead brake um a couple of times that sorts them out ! They always look at you funny too for some reason too

I think its more to do with the size of car you drive, sure there a bit of badge snobbery from the german mark drivers (most are probably leased cars anyway) Yes i did get let passed more when i was driving a company Ford Mondeo Titanium X (horrible barge) than i did in my Kia but again i think thats because its half a car length longer.

TBH I havn't really noticed any difference which ever of my cars I drive (Kia KX3 and an Audi A4) you still get tailgaters and bad drivers.Mostly boy racers in souped up Corsas in my neck of the woods.I just smile and put my foot down and watch their faces as they are left well behind or if they want to go faster than I want to I will happily move over and watch them go on their way. No doubt catching them up at the next junction or set of lights.

Lmao you must have seen me behind ! Only big problem with Audi s are that powers low down and only good to 3,000 rpm and there dead IMO driven loads feel fast because all turbos on them come in at 1200 rpm . If I was in my civic would eat Audi for dinner :D no offence it's true people do try there luck that's the way it goes with kia's unfortunately

People who sl*g Kias off probably dont know the first thing about them. Its a brand that is not in your face much like ford, vauxhall, pugs and citreons etc. Kia is a very reliable make of car as it was originally help on by Mazda who are a great manufacturer. You just have to look back to the 60s and 70s when Jap cars came in to UK. People sl*gged them off but you got more for your money. Body work was an issue with them but mechanically they were ahead of UK cars. But I must add I had a 6 year old MK1 Escort in 1978 and it had to have new sills, top strut mountings, chasssis legs etc. It was rife with tin worm.
About those chavs in Corsas they have now emigrated to Picantos, just ask Dano
.
Only kidding Dano

I'm not keen on any of the Audi range in white but if someone was to buy me one I could overlook the colour LoL . My first A4 was Gun Metal, then the A3 was Dolphin Grey this A4 is Demin Blue. I do love my Audi's but no good for towing. My van is pretty heavy specially once I've loaded everything into it and some

My OH tells me the the max permissable load is what it says max permittedit's not a target that I have to achieve
Was looking at changing the Sorento for an Audi all road but TBH I got the new KX3 for around the same price as a 5yr old allroad. I just couldn't justify that kind of money for a 5yr old Audi. BUT ifI win the lottery !!!

Dano, my bike is a Yamaha Fazer FZS1000 on a 54 plate. Still to install a carb jet kit by a guy called Ivans from the USA and modify the inlet rubbers and an airbox mod. Also a MotoGP style exhaust system. Once thats done you get about 145hp at the back wheel. So it will be a fast Fokker. I had an 02 one for about 4 years and done the mods to it and its good for 170mph. 0 to 100 in 5.2secs. First gear takes you to 75mph, so you can see its mighty quick. I will do the mods in the spring ready for my trip down to Alicante in Spain with my mate who's got a Hayabusa. Now thats good for 200mph but a bit of a lump for the twisties tho'.
You get a good buzz out of biking but you do get some scary moments.

Oh Cathy have you checked your van for illegals that's what may be causing the weight issue
