Google voice control

I have a 2017 Sportage with Android Play. Up until a few days ago the voice control was working fine; I could navigate, play music via Spotify and ask Google random questions if I so wished - all by pressing the wee button on the steering wheel and talking to the Google lady.

Now, I can do all the above with the exception of playing music. I say "play Band X" and the Google lady tells me she no can do.

I've removed and reinstalled Android Auto. I've turned the phone off and on. Ice sworn at it.

Has anyone had the same problem?

Apart from that problem...

How do you find it? I currently have all my music on a USB stick but of course that prevents me plugging-in my phone (which also has loads of music on it) and using Android Auto...

I know I could test it myself but I wondered how you got on with it - when it works obviously!

Yes, I have it running in the house with Google Homes all over - it is sensational.

But I wasn't impressed in the car and will probably remove Android Auto from my phone... It has an annoying habit of displaying my last call on the phone when I get in the car - and if the phone is in my pocket it often dials it!

I reckon I'll stick with the 64Gb USB stick with all my music on it and Bluetooth for my phone - nobody calls me anyway!
