It’s so hard to get ma car started in the morning it just crank but won’t start till the battery runs down

Glow plugs would be my guess. Does it eventually start? If it doesn't it could be an imobiliser problem

Attach an OBD2 reader and look up any error codes.
I once had the same with a petrol Mazda and it turned out to be a defective crank position sensor.
