When we change into a gear it feels like the gearstick is back in Neutral and the gear lever doesnt flow nicely from 1st to 2nd and 4th to 3rd etc etc.

It seems like the bias to hold it central is almost too strong.

hope all that makes sense.

Is this normal or is there a problem with my gear linkage mechanism.

Also the clutch biting point is quite low. Is there a problem with that as well?

Six months ago I lubed the gear cable linkages which madegearchanging a lot smoother. They were very dry. Youcould try doing that first to see if it makes any difference. Just remove the air filter box held in by a few 10mm bolts and that gives good access to the linkages.

My clutch biting point has always been low which sometimes affects the feel of the gearchange but hasn't caused any real problem. I may try and adjust it soon to make it bite a bit later.

Let us know how you get on with this problem, I'd like to know.

its not the clucth so much as the gear lever.

the movement when to go from 1st to second is almost like going from the 2nd to third with the dogleg

the central bias almost seems to strong and when in first or second it looks like the lever is in neutral.
