My wife was driving our 09 plated Cee'd (diesel) when she said that all the gauges failed. Apparently as the trip continued, the speed, mileage and rev counter came back, but the temperature gauge and fuel gauge remained at zero.

Since getting the car back home, the temperature gauge has returned to normal, but the fuel gauge only shows 1/4 full (it has slowly crept up from zero) despite the tank being completely full.

Could this be an ECU problem, or just something simple like a faulty wire or fuse?

Best to book the car in. Had a problem wih the fuel gauge on the Mondeo TDCi, would register no additional fuel when filled, would slowly climb as you drove, could take 100 miles to register properly. Never bothered sorting it under warranty, didn't seem worth it, only needed a sender, sold car when it was 3 years old anyway. Then found out that the gauge sender, high pressure pump, tank etc are a single unit that has to be replaced as a unit, over £2000 all in I was told. Modern motoring for you.

Don't believe the lights are a problem - should all be covered in the warranty however as we bought it in August as a Kia Approved car.
