Car failed it’s MOT - excessive play in the steering rack inner joints.
these were replaced with correct parts and car was tracked, correctly. Now ok full lock the wheel touches (I think somewher near anti roll bar link)
The garage who did the work rechecked but have no idea why it’s doing it. Didn’t before. Any suggestion?

Must be they replaced with the wrong part - wrong length at a guess. You need to firmly indicate to the garage that the fault was not present before they did the job so something they have done is the problem. If they are not accomodating then suggest to them that you will take it to a KIA dealer and if it proves to be anything to do with the parts or work they have done then they can reimburse you for KIAs charges. If they agree to this then get it in writing.

Some inner joints have a locking spacer type washer over the male thread. Replacement joints don't always come with the spacer included
