Hello
I have a 25 plate Sportage Shadow. I have noticed on mornings when there is a lot of dew/condensation, I get warning signals saying forward safety camera not working or obscured. I have tried using the wipers and wiping the top centre of the windscreen but even after a 10 minute drive the warning is still there.
Am I the only one experiencing this? Does anyone know a solution please?

I also have a 2025 Shadow HEV and have been experiencing the same problem recently - get similar messages and also one saying camera is obscured and forward collision system disabled.
Sometimes the messages clear themselves after 15 minutes driving. Otherwise I have to stop the car, switch off the the forward collision feature then re-enable it.

In the two years I've had my Sportage I've only had the message the the forward camera/collision system disabled once and that was driving in heavy (stair rods) rain. It also disabled the smart cruise control. It cleared once the rain abated.
I've never suffered this issue on a morning, although to be fair the car is parked facing south and being retired I can pick what time I'm going out.

This is strange. Had our previous Sportage GTLS for 3 years and this never occurred. Had our new Sportage for a couple of weeks and this has happened 3 times already. I checked the camera area to make sure there wasn't any bird poop or anything (this was later in the day).
It has only occurred whilst my wife has been driving, so I've not seen if the windscreen had dew on it, but it is likely as 2 of the times it happened, was early in the morning.
But what concerns me is if it is dew causing this issue, then it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect rain to cause issues.

Our car doesn't mention the camera being at fault, or obscured, but all the errors (Lane Keep Assist, Intelligent headlights, traffic sign recognition, Forward Collision avoidance system) are associated with camera.

I have the same problem with my 24 plate sportage. My wipers cover the camera so clear screen after I scrape the frost off, however inside the camera screen is misted up. I put the front screen demist on full and it clears within 5 mins, raised it with the dealer who said it was normal and that they used to have a heater in the camera but not now. Seems to me they should reinstate the camera heater and have it come on in cold weather.

That would explain why our previous 72 plate didn't suffer with this.
We changed from the MHEV, as it was constantly getting blocked PPF due to my wife's early (cold) starts and very short journeys<3 miles.

Even though we were never warned about the MHEV's PPF issues with short journeys (I knew about Diesel DPF), it was considered our "fault" for driving short journeys. If it now turns out that I need to have the front windscreen blowers on, even when the windscreen is clear (except for the section trapped within the camera housing, then I'd be ready to try and reject the car. The PHEV doesn't have an electric heater, so I'll now be wasting petrol trying to clear an area of windscreen I can't even see from inside the car.

Well could we have an epidemic here, I have a MY25 2024 Sportage which has started to display the forward collision sensor on the dash board whilst driving in the rain followed by the warning that the forward collision has been deactivated on the tacho, this goes off once the rain stops but has happened on 3 occasions. This has been further confusing as whilst night driving when I engage the high beam assist this also activates the forward collision light which goes off once I deactivate the high beam assist and now the latest is that the high beam assist will not operate at all. booked into the garage for next friday

I am getting this problem every morning there is the slightest condensation, may try wiping the sensor before I set off to see if that cures it, but if the condensation is inside the sensor then that will not help.
