With my Sportage 1998 once the engine has warmed up as soon as it gets to2000rpm the engine splutters, once back to below 2000rpm it runs ok.Have changed filter, air intake sensor, fuel pump, plugs.Any ideas anyone?

Hi Dave believe vacuum is used for the drive system on them? if a pipe is broke or leaking could cause your problem on the engine.
Check vacuum pipes to front hubs, under wheel arch.

Thanks a lot Bob, hope we find the fault as it is a headache. As parts like the sensor & fuel pump are not cheap and all for nothing so farDave

alright mate, i have just read your problem. i have a very similar problem but at 3000 revs. i have been told it could be a blocked converter. not sure if you can unblock this in any way or it is just easier to get a new one! will keep you posted

Thanks , I am just waiting for two spares,Hose between air sensor and fuel intake, which had split and a broken PCV valve both will affect vacuum system I think.

hi, alright mate. just to keep you up dated, fitted new converter, back box and air filter and its still doing it. next is oxygen sensor!!
