I am waiting for the delivery of my new sportage and need a towbar fitting.
I am a qualified Mechanical maintenance engineer and have fit towbars to my other cars and the fitting instructions for the Sportage are the easiest I have ever seen.

I have been told by a Kia dealer that if I fit it myself I will loose my 7 year warranty on the car! Please can anyone tell me if this is correct ?

I think its to do with the electrical side of things. Its probably a can/bus system and not the old type of just scotch locking to tail light circuit. Or they just want to scare you into getting the job for themselves. I would direct this question to Viking Paul or Murphwiz as they are Kia garage workers and know the legality of what you can do yourself and what not with regards to saving the warranty.
