Hi,
I'm new to the forum and new to Kia, having just bought a 2013 Sportage 2.0 CRDi KX-3. I've immediately discovered that the switch on the right-hand side of the steering wheel to activate, deactivate and adjust cruise control (see photo) seems to be faulty. Specifically, everything seems to work except the "reset" function. This is a pain in the neck, because it means every time you want to re-engage cruise control after braking, you have to "manually" accelerate back up to the desired speed and then hit "set" again. The "set" control seems to work OK, allowing you to set the desired speed and reduce it. The "reset" control does nothing (it's supposed to reset the previously set speed after braking, and increase the speed.
So, my questions:
1. Has anyone had this switch replaced by a Kia dealer, and if so could you give me an idea of likely cost?
2. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy the correct replacement switch?
One final thing: I'm in two minds as to whether to report this to the used car dealer I bought the car from. On the one hand, they seem to have a good reputation and to be strong on customer service; on the other hand, from past experience this sort of "minor" electronics issue is not something used car dealers tend to be interested in fixing (or even able to fix) after the fact. And, having just got the vehicle, I really don't want to have to take it back to the used dealer and leave it with them for days on end. (I did check the warranty details, but unfortunately this only covers major mechanical failures.)
Thanks in advance!
Rob
