Hi, I’m soon to be a new Sportage owner and it has a factory fitted tow bar which I won’t need. How easy is it to remove or should I just keep it?
Thanks

You don't say what year your car is, but with the current model (2016+) there is a crossbeam member, that sits behind the bumper, that is removed. If you remove the tow bar you will need to replace the crossbeam to keep structural integrity.

It’s a 2018, is it expensive to replace do you know?
I have no idea. I do know its a a complex moulding (for want of a better description), which is made a light weight metal, possibly aluminium. Why not remove the hitch ball and electrics, but leave the bar in place?

Why remove it, especially if it is a fixed towball. Mine gives extra protection to rear when others park close.
