I would assume that there is an internal sensor as part of the antitheft system

There must be an internal movement sensor, you can switch it of temporarily, but I believe it is now buried in the menu's somewhere. Sorry it time to read the manual.

I knew it was there, I couldn't remember what they called it. Be aware it resets when you unlock/open the car door.
