Can you open an EV9 forum since the "leaked" details are now confirmed and UK internal dealer orders are active.

Any update Philip? We had our test drive on Wednesday, which went very well. The salesman then shocked us by saying we could (should?) have our EV9 by the end of the month! This would be great but the tax on the Sorento runs out at the end of Jan so I'm now in two minds whether to press ahead with the service and MoT booked for next week. Oh, such first world dilemmas!

I suppose our cars could actually be on the same boat. What did you order? Mine's a red GT-Line.

Thanks iooi. Looks like the OP, having joined and asked his question, has gone away.

My car is apparently in Kia Uk”s compound so looks fairly definite for delivery this month. I suspect a batch of RHD EV9s were shipped in for dealer stock and I was lucky that there was one matching my specification. I think the dealer provisionally booked it pending our test drive last week and has now confirmed he wants it and we just have to wait our turn with whatever transport resources are being used.

Sorry to hear that Philip. We’re due to collect ours on Tuesday, so I’ll try to remember to have a good look at the wheel arches! Presumably you were offered the option of taking the car, with the arches to be replaced under warranty when in stock?

Hi all today my dealer has found the issues with wheel arches. The aarches seem to have a film on the outside and when not heated properly it separates and leaves air behind solved with a heat gun.Just beware when you purchase to check the plastic film over the top and be carefull when cleaning as this film is very soft and can scratch easily.

I've had two Sportages, and both times the protective film has been left over the reversing camera. It's not until you've reversed a couple of times and thought the picture is naff, that you realise what they have done. It's just a small disc of blueish clear plastic. But a whole trim!

We’re just back from our first real world long distance journey in the EV9, Hampshire coast to Skegness, Lincolnshire. We stopped at our daughter’s near Newbury on the way up and topped up from a neighbour’s charger. An attempt to do a DC charge (BPPulse) en route failed so we pressed on to Skegness and re-charged to 98% (BP Pulse 7kw) before the return journey. With a couple of stops and minor detours, this was 234miles and we arrived home with 70 miles on the GOM and 23% SOC. So, very consistent with the claimed range of around 300 miles.

Now I just have to find out why our DC charging attempts failed - particularly bewildering since we had a successful test charge on a similar local charger a few days before setting off.

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention that the car acquitted itself very well. The driving was shared with my wife and daughter who both found it enjoyable to drive. So much so, my daughter was fearful that she might find her manual Qashqai rather clunky by comparison. Maybe there could be an EV3 in her future? Could prove to be an expensive trip!
