EV 3 starting issue

I posted an update to my original query, saying that I now had a reliable solution that works every time. As per the response from iooi, BUT I think that he has a key step missing. Before turning on, press and hold the foot-brake, then as he says.
Thats exactly what I do.

Push Brake

Switch On whilst holding foot on brake

Wait for Ready To Drive (appears within a second)

Push foot back on brake and move lever to Drive

Zombie mode basically stops the car for starting for for quite a while. 30 mins was often quoted.
In reality there were a couple of work rounds, but they did not always work. So it was just a case of waiting it out.

Yours does not sound like this at all. As well as we would hear far more posts on the subject.
Thanks, hopefully newbie error

@iooi It happened this morning. I had the car in Park. Got out the car to open a gate, then pushed brake and would not go into Drive. Did second time I tried. Quite odd. I can only guess I failed to fully press the brake pedal. Only second time after at least 20 journeys in t h e last week.

I would not have a clue #iooi

I am real newbie to Ev's. I saw a few videos on YouTube. None the wiser.

Can you explain zombie mode and how to get deal with it??

I may have had this issue or it may have been me as I am a very new user of Ev's.

On one occasion I was parked up, switched on pushed the brake pedal down whilst switching on, waited for Ready. At that moment I may have lifted my foot slightly from the brake pedal before selecting Drive but a message came up saying something on the lines of 'shift out of park'. I tried several times eventually it went into drive.

Happened again this morning, once, but then worked.

I put these both down to user error.

Can you run through exactly what happens as you try to put the car into Drive, as that will help me if it happens again?
