Hi there, my 2007 Kia Ceed 1600 petrol, 90,000 mls. will not start, engine spins over fine but doesn’t catch. It had been starting fine up until about a fortnight ago, but recently I noticed when idling that the engine was ‘hunting’....it usually started and ran great from cold, but increasingly gave starting problems when hot, then yesterday would not start at all. This afternoon, after more fruitless turning over, the battery was starting to fade so I’ve taken it out to charge, I have read of many different causes but I’m none the wiser. I think I read somewhere that the immobiliser terminals can be checked and cleaned reasonably easily, can anyone confirm this? And is it worth a try? I will have another go tomorrow if the weather is not too bad and report back, Cheers, Alan.
