Hi there,
I’ve just purchased a 2012 kia picanto and it’s perfect other than one detail. The car all locks with the use of the remote other than the drivers side door, it does however lock when the key is put in the lock, it’s a minor inconvenience however any help on what might need to be done/replaced would be great.
I thank you for your help in advance

Fist of all check all wires in rubber gaiter from pillar to door drivers side. Pull rubber back as they are known to break with the opening and shutting of the door over time. If they appear OK remove door panel and check the locking actuator.

There is more than one wire going through the rubber gaiter and any of them can break. If the one for the door actuator has broken this will be the trouble. As the wires bend constantly each time door is used the wire needs to have a new piece put in and then the two joints pushed back so that one joint is inside the door and the other inside the pillar. If you just join the break it will be stiff whether you solder or crimp and will not bend on door shutting.
