Hello all! I am having an issue with my Sportage 2009. The passenger aircon is working just fine but the driver side is only blowing warm/ambient air.

I have recently changed the air filters and regased. This improved my bad working AC on the passenger side, but on the driver side the amount of air being blown improved but it is warm. I been told by a mechanic it could be because of a flap bloking the cold air going to the driver's side. Could this be right? If so, could I check it on my own? should be behind the dashboard but any idea of an specific location?

The advice is correct - there are two cold/warm air mix flaps (for each side of the car) and it seems likely that one of your is jammed - could be a physical problem or the actuator is faulty. No idea where these are but they are most probably close to the blower box - remove glove box for initial access but I don't know where to look after that.
