Can anyone tell me how to ascertain if my 2006 Carens CRDI Auto has a DPF fitted? I have not had any indications of regeneration since ownership (March 2011).
Thanks
Bob

I'm pretty sure you have a DPF filter fitted on those engines they usually last a while with out regeneration a few years I was told , the way to check I'f have dpf is if it smokes when you try and give it a clear out on motor way if it does it doesn't :)

If it's a Mk3 2006 then yes it has, if it's a Mk2 then no it doesn't.
Easiest way to note a regeneration is the smell & excess heat from the exhaust, only noticeable from outside the car or with the window open. It may be doing it & you don't realise!

DPF's generally only regenerate when they need to. If your motoring includes longer, faster trips as opposed to just all short and slow journeys it may never need to.
