one final question, im finally getting a copy of the software tonight (thaks @iooi and also to eveeyone else that helped me and offered help..THANK YOU.

on a previous thread (might have even be one of mine, i read that you get a prompt when updating to say you cant turn engine off after a while and leave the car to update (as it could take an hour ) but on the webstie they seem to contradict this

Mine is not an electriccar its petrol, will i still be prompted to turn the engine off?

Best bet is have car running when you start process. Hopefully you get the option to start update after turning car off, if you do select, turn car off & lock, connect should tell you when finished.
If not then it's either sit in car with engine running, or go for a drive while it updates. But you will have no radio etc while it is updating.

You will need to format USB to exFat.
Drag & drop the files inside the folder to the USB
So when you open usb it should look like this (only for Stonic).

Yep, that is how it should look on the usb.
Thank you, its a good job people like you ar here as you would have thought they would have said that in the instructions. I bet there are loads of people that have put the USB stick into the car (as my first pic) without taking the files out of the main folder
