Changing transfer box fluid. Looking at changing it with Castrol dex iii multi vehicle,
But
Can dex vi be used is it backwards compatible and any benefits if so.

If dexron III is specified, then use that.
VI is not better than III just because the nr. Is higher.
It is backwards compatible for some applications, but the viscosities are different.

why not use TOD oil supplied by Kia i know it is more expensive than Dexron paying a bit more is cheaper than a new transfer box also peace of mind . When i had a Sorento 05 always changed oil every 20,000 miles.
