Hi all,
We have a Niro EV 4 on order and we're most likely going to fit a dashcam to it, but one thing I'm having trouble finding out any information about is using the dashcam in an EV in parking mode so it captures images/footage when the car is parked and ignition turned off. I've seen a lot of the hard-wiring kits have selectors to disable the camera when the 12v battery drops below a certain voltage as the parking mode on cameras can still be quite power hungry, but how will this work with an EV?
Will the 12v battery keep getting topped up from the larger battery as/when the voltage drops or could it still flatten the 12v battery if left for a day or two parked up with the camera in parking mode?
Most nights the car will be connected to a 7kw charger to have at least some charge put back into the battery ready for the next day, will this also top up the 12v battery and allow the camera to operate longer?
Thanks in advance
Mark
