I currently have a Blackvue dashcam fitted to my current vehicle which is plugged into the Toyota diagnostics socket located under the driver's dashboard so its an easy access. Anyone have any ideas if such a similar arrangement exists in the Niro EV3. ?

I cannot speak to the latest Niro, but on my 22-plate HEV, the OBDII port is in the fusebox and you cannot get the fusebox cover on when the socket is in use. See Kia e-Niro Alternative Fuse Cover by dougconran
Even easier so long as you have auto dip rear view mirror.

Never had a issue with dash cam on my EV. Using Dongar.
Dealer is kind of right, as it gives them a out.
But you can always remove dash cam before going to them with a issue.
