A Tip.

I had the
cruise control fail to "SET" the other day. Switching cruise off back
to on makes no difference.

My old
Sportage Titan had the very same problem.... a very light dab of the brake
brings everything back to life again. It works on the new one too.

This is a sticky brake sensor that tells the cruise that the brakes are on when they are not. So you press set and the system say NO!! :). I had the same issue but an unplanned hard braking situation fixed it.

Hi Jezster,

I have managed
to reproduce the failure.

For example,
if you are driving down the motorway in cruise, then CANCEL cruise (but do not
switch it OFF),

Pull of the motorway to fuel up. Then get back
on the motorway (without touching the brakes)switch cruise ON, it will not SET.

You have to
dab the brake.

The key is
in selecting cruise OFF before switching off the engine. It's not a sticky
switch but a logic/software thing. I managed to repeat this a couple of times.
