I have now had the informat software crash twice, after which everything you have altered from the default and all the saved navigation locations have to be re-entered again! What with this and Android Auto dropping out, I cannot wait for a software upgrade. You would have thought KIA would have found these faults during development of this otherwise fantastic vehicle!

Have you created a profile back up in Connect app?
If not I'd advise to do so. All you then do is restore profile from app.

3 dots (bottom right) . User Settings > User Profile. Backup.

Just followed your advice and backed up my Profile. Noticed there is option for Auto back up ... Is it worth having it on that ? And if yes how ?

No problem.

Noticed that too, but have not found a way to activate it..

TBH. I forget about the back up. But once you have it set as you need, no need to keep doing them.
