Coolant Leaking

My Kia Sportage is less than a year old and i've this evening just got home from what looks like a leaking coolant p@ssing all over the floor.

I had to pull over as a message popped up on the dash "Engine Overheating", checked the coolant and nothing in it!

I tried topping it up at the service station but it all p@ssed out just below the radiator.

If I ring my Kia Dealer tomorrow do you think they will take it in to look at if I can get a recovery from home to the dealer?

Also since I had the car back i've been hearing water\sloshing sound coming from the car - really strange and had to fill the coolant bottle up the other day.

Check to see if the front footwell mats are wet, and also run your fingers under the glovebox area to check for water.

Hearing water sloshing around was the first sign that my heater matrix had sprung a leak.

I'd be interested in a photo of the modification.
Pic not great but you get the idea you can see how open the rad and inter cooler are throu the mesh not good

Really impressed with your mesh enhancement Cornish dave, I'd noticed that section of the radiator was filling up with leaves and, having followed a tractor with hay bales for miles, enough straw to feed a horse all winter

. So I've got my mesh, and my tie wraps but cant figure how to feed the ties back out through the mesh. If I'm holding the mesh against the car I cant get my hand round the back to feed the end of the tie back through the mesh? I can do one end loosely but when I offer up the other end of the mesh I close off the aperture. Clearly there is a way as you have done it to great effect, go on Dave... whats the trick. Thanks in advance.

long zip ties , bend them three inches from the end back on themselves then feed them into the mesh at the bottom so you have two hook like ends sticking up push into vent holes so the hooks go all the way in then gently pull back so they come throu two vents up then back through the mesh zip up and cut off

Thanks. Like most magic tricks, easy when you know how

Took 5 minutes to cover the bottom radiator. Used flexible plastic whichcost pennies and was easy to put ties through and back on themselves as it was flexible. Stood back to look at it and is a really neat job. Had lots of leaves to clear out. Thanks Cornish dave GREAT Idea. Possibly save damage to radiator.

I got the mesh from e-bay " 500mm x 400 mm D Type black semiridge HDPE 8mm strong plastic mesh screen" I bought twoto getone run without joint. Also gave this number 232427602276. Only a 4 inch strip that cuts with strong scissors. Used black 4 inch plastic ties - start one end then bend out to get end of tie to put through hole pull tight go to next fixing. Same phot as Cornish dave gave.
