I was driving today when I heard a clunk and this hit my foot!! The car still drives fine but the pedal is slack at the top. Obviously I will be getting it fixed as soon as I can but if I need to drive the car, which I will need to, will it cause any damage? As far as I can tell its purely to keep the pedal at the top but I could be wrong

p.s sorry for the huge photo, I could work out how to make it smaller!

Don;t know but it is possible that the pedal is resting on teh clutch fork and this is resting on the release bearing so there is the potential for some wear there (a bit like folk resting their left foot on the clutch pedal. Could you lash up something with a bungee cord or similar as a short term workaround.

Common issue on the Rio and Stonic. It will be fine to use as is because there is more than one spring on the clutch pedal. I'm not sure the dealer will be pleased to see you though as they are a bit of a swine to do!!!!!
