Hi. Help. I think that my clutch/DMF is playing me up. Drove yesterday and have had a noise when the clutch if depressed when stationaryand have a grinding sensation when depressing the clutch. The noise however appears to go when the clutch takes on the load. Any clues
Thanks

Hi mate, had a recent similar problem on my 04 plate Freelander (which is about to be part ex'd). The noise when the clutch is depressed is quite likely the clutch release bearing (£60 part). That was the good bit - for me the bad bit was it was a gearbox off job, which at 90,000 miles meant it made sense to change the clutch (£110 kit) but that also changing the DMF (pat part - £450 ouch) - almost a four figure sum.

Any mechanic will be able to confirm by hearing it. Good luck!
