As a result of my desire not to pay a hugely inflated price for fuel at motorway service stations (is it me or are they deliberately and blatantly taking the piss?) I found myself last night at a Sainsburys with only fumes left in the tank. As I only had 30 or so miles to go i put in £20 worth of City Diesel (the only choice at £136.9/ltr). As soon as I pulled out of the station I noticed a significant difference in the performance of the engine. It was rougher and there was a distinct pinking on acceleration, even my daughter in the back asked what was wrong with the engine. Strangely though the car performed better with sharper acceleration and much improved fuel consumption going up from 49mpg to 53mpg and showing 56mpg by the time I got home.. This is the first time I have used City Diesel to my knowledge and I am not sure if it is good or not. Anyone out there got any thoughts/ideas?
Timpernx.
