Could someone advise how I find out the correct turbocharger for my '08 Kia Cee'd SW CRDI 113.

The Turbo has gone and I am trying to find out the correct part (or even the engine type thatis fitted).

My local dealer is unwilling to give me the part numbers and I could not see the nameplate on the turbo itself as it is still fitted to the car)

Thanks

Take it to a turbo specialist and they will either exchange it or recondition it.

Hope the saving from the missed services will pay for repairs.
When the turbo blew on my Toledo, a recon one was around £500 fitted so thats around the cost of what, one and a half annual services?

with insurance and road tax you've paid and not used, taxi's/bus fairs, inconvenience, and explain to someone, when you sell, the turbo blew up and its got arecon one.....oh and that the kia ballance of warranty is nil& void because its nothad all its services(well if your an honest person that is,and they knock you down on the price) its probably closer to 3 or more annual services Edited by: RichieD76

Take to another dealer, service history may only come into play if the warranty department ask for it! If not contact customer services and try your luck, you never know.

Was it actually serviced? If it was, was it by a reputable, known garage (if there is such a thing!) and have you got proof and details of the service (ie completedand dated service sheets). It all helps if your trying to get anything done under warranty. If it wasn't serviced, then I don't think your going to have much luck

With regards to Mr Kia's comment about the warranty department not noticing I personally thought that when they entered the chassis number onto the system it showed if a Kia dealer had serviced the car, if they hadn't its up to the owner to prove compliance with the EU regs, if you have met them no problems.
The last time I phoned up KIA to ask this they said that the history isnt held centrally - only on the system of the dealer that did the work.

In the event of a claim, the dealer that you took the car to would look at the service book and call up the garage that is on the stamps if it wasnt a main agent to find out what work was done.

As it's a turbo replacement, I'm sure you know, that will exceed the self authority limit and would require a pwa and a gsw case, and they will require service history before authorising any repair.
