Hi, Just took delivery of ceed 3 CRDI 1582ccGot it home and noticed the number three missing off the rear of vehicle. Thought it may have dropped off at the dealers car-wash. Got in touch with dealer and it seems latest models have not got the styling number 1,2,3,4 on the cars anymore. So, if you want your ceed to look more up to date then maybe remove the styling number. :) Pleased with car and got them to fix rear parking sensors which I find really useful. Hope the mpg will improve as I go along.

Hi blom... Funny you should mention running lights as I thought it wasa legality onthe 2012 cars and I was surprised mine didn't have them. I think reading between the lines that it is a legal requirement on New Models in 2012 and Not new cars.
It is fitted with a dpf filter which is also a recent legal thing as I was hoping mine wouldn't have it fitted but it did. No good for mostly around town journeys as it needs a good burn up every 300 miles or so I believe or the diesel engine may go into a limp mode!

Hi Wingman, The regulation for front running lights was March 2011 for New Models not new cars but I would say you have a new model, so take it back, if it's not a new model ask for a large discount. I had the last of the old model and got it the beginingof May 2011
I am not in faver of front running only, for we should have rear one too for if some daft idiot does torn there lights on you cannot see the rear.

Volvo has the right idea but they were not turned on as running lights in the first place

Hi Blom When you say you have the last of the old model, how is it different to mine? I wasn't aware there was a model change in May/June 2011after you purchased yours. I will contact Kia to find out more about front running lights but everywhere I read the interpretaytion on the regulations are loose. Some say New cars others say New models. Technically the production line for your car is the same for mine and has never stopped to change for model shape. I believe there is a new Ceed coming out this year and that will definitely have to have them fitted. It seems the UK has not been keeping up with a lot of regulations regards the EC and legislation on running lights. Many other countries have had them fitted for several years by law.

A statement from the European Commission confirms that all new types of passenger cars and small delivery vans now have to be equipped with Daytime Running Lights.

The move is a step to improve European road safety and to reduce energy consumption.

The announcement states that cars being put forward for type approval must have daytime running lights from yesterday (February 7), but not current production models.

Wingman , You are right it is a minefield. WhenI had my car I stated it requires DRL, but we looked up on the internet and DVLA told us (suppiler ) the it was not a new model but i have seen ceed's around with them on. The new model as I understand it has Euro 5 engine in it, this has to do with pollution.
You are right we only pick out the EU regulation parts we like. We should have displayed on our number plates the country of registration since 1990, other countries do, and number plates are a minefield

Another one RED meando not enter, Amber means caution and Green means your way is clear but our bus lanes are Green ????
