I would like to request information on a few issues, can you please help? When purchasing a new Kia Sportage GT-Line S Hybrid, do they provide a carpet floor mat set with the car? Also, is there a Fire Extinguisher and a first aid kit in the car? Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Car mats are not standard, you either buy a set or persuade the dealer to include a set as part of the deal. I managed to get mine for free as part of the deal, but it doesn't always work that way. No a fire extinguisher or first aid kit are not in the car.

No mats with mine, which I grumbled about at the time, but on a recent visit to the dealer about the 212/226 fiasco my sales guy asked if I still wanted a set. I declined with thanks, having bought a set of used but decent Kia mats, but said that a boot liner would be handy. To his credit he's ordered me one as a freebie due to the "wrong-spec-car-supplied" issue, even though the dealer is completely blameless in the event. I had an unused Nissan safety kit from my 2015 CashCow, with dayglo vests, space blankets, first-aid kit and warning triangle, so that's gone under the boot floor. No fire extinguisher - if it burns, it burns, baby.

Manufacturers are getting more and more frugal with this sort of kit - a spare wheel used to be pretty much a standard inclusion - but then again we get so many extra features now, like auto lights and wipers, sensors and reversing cam, a zillion safety systems etc.

For what they cost the dealer they should be thrown in as part of the purchase. I was grumbling at the price of the monthly payments at time of order so the dealer principal said if I throw in mats, a boor liner and f/r dash cams would I go with them. Of course, I said. Mats are probably like £40 at cost price.

In my opinion, since Kia, as a brand has been in great demand lately, Kia dealers do not compromise on gifts in any way. In previous times, sales staff of Kia dealers were fighting hard to sell a vehicle, but now, they are not even struggling to give an update on the delivery date.

According to my economic situation, Kia Sportage is an upper-segment model for me. I respect everyone's opinion, but I reflected my own opinion in the comment. It is unacceptable that a vehicle costing approximately £43,000 does not have a floor mat set. Maybe different model vehicles may be the upper segment for you, cheaper vehicles may be the upper segment for some, I think this is entirely related to people's economic situation and the vehicle model they can buy by combining their dreams, otherwise, I do not intend to start a discussion here. Thank you.

Whilst I endure the never ending wait for my car to roll off the production line in Slovakia I have e got my mats and mudguards already (so about 1% of the car 😁). It's not worth haggling on mats in my opinion, focus on the discount and free servicing deals.

Make sure to get the right ones as there are different mats for 2 and 3 / GT line/s and GT line Hev and 2/3 Hev too.

What are the differences in the mats? I bought mine pre-owned, judging their fit by the photo. They appear to fit as expected on my HEV.

I usually buy mudguards but I never got around to fitting the set I bought for the Peugeot 3008 and the vehicle never looked as if it had needed them. Has anyone else fitted them to the Sportage?
