According to Kia the belt should be replaced every 50,000miles or 5 years. That is on the 2.0 diesel 2006 on with VGT turbo.2005 is same. But make sure water pump is in good condition and renew the tensioners and idle pulleys just to be on safe side.
I'm not sure if its a self destruct one if belt breaks but I would replace it if not sure for piece of mind and to save you a fortune on a head job.

Yeh I would always replace water pump on any make model that was driven by timing belt. Cos as sure as I'm a Scotsman when you have renewed the belt a week later the water pump will leak or rumble.Sods law.
