Has anyone had these probs ? 2 ltr diesel kia sportage had full service today (14/07/10) ''trudie'' (pet name)had to have a litre of oil her coolant header tank was dry , she has done 79,800 miles always serviced on time .. and will only be 5 yrs old in september ..(don't quote me on this but I have been told the engine life is around 80,000-100,000miles) Hope someone can advise !!!!! Hi rickardo and welcome.
If you have had to add a litre of oil to your coolant header tank, you have big problems!!! only water base coolant should be in there.

If that amount has disappeared then you have a coolant leak or head problem.

Sounds to me like you may have a cracked header. This will cause you to burn oil, and leak coolant, possibly into the engine. Do you see coolant in the oil? If this is the case, I would start looking for another car.
