Hi all had car for 15 months now i have had a buffeting sound same as opening a back window on motorway ,it only happens at between 27 to 31 mph and seems to be temperature related when car is hot seems to disappear, have taken it to dealers as per normal it does not do it also needs smooth rds to hear it, anyway was on point of giving up then i pinned it down to back left door, so i got some thin bubble wrap and taped it to rear door seal drove car 2 weeks no buffeting !! removed bubble wrap this morning and buffeting sound back, so looks like door not lined up correctly, have contacted dealers {who i get on well with} and they said they don't touch door alinement problems and it will have to go to a Kia bodyshop and it would not be done under warranty as panel alinement only covered in first 6 months !! waiting for a call now re next step I've took to photos one of top and bottom of rear door you can now see the difference.

Impressive bit of detective work! I hope re alignment sorts it out. With rattling hatches, squeaking door seals and noisy sunroofs we’ve all had to be noise detectives.

Dealer got back to me and said they have a guy who worked in body shop and they will try and adjust free of charge, I then contacted the Kia body shop where i took my 2.0 when it had a tiny paint inclusion on door and Kia wanted to respray the whole door !! and he polished out free of charge and lost out on the door respray, spoke to the same guy he said they have a man who only aligns doors etc for them for the last 30years and they will do it while i wait if they are unable to align door they will give me a report to give to Kia, i will have to pay for alignment but at most 1hr labour so booked in tomorrow 70mile round trip be nice to give car a run will report back

Went to Bolam crash repairs in Leighton buzzard a kia specialist, Mike who owns the garage looked at my car and said its not the back door out, its the front door took his guy 30 sec to adjust lines up perfectly now , highly recommend these guys if you need and bodywork done really know there stuff and the treat your car with respect, there was another Stinger in workshop a lovely dark grey 3.3 having its wheels refurbed, any way that's the good news now to see if buffeting noise has gone
